Walking for six hours with a heavy pack on your back may have been challenging, but it was well worth it for the rewarding experience that the DofE expedition turned out to be. The countryside was spectacular and I was fortunate enough to witness a pair of wild deer during the day and a shooting star at night!

We also enjoyed a rare chance to be fully independent , making all our own decisions within our groups from map reading and navigation to all our own planning of meals, cooking and cleaning.

To any one out there who is thinking of signing themselves up for DofE I would say go for it you won't regret your decision to take part!
