Fiona Brown

We are deeply saddened to announce the death of our friend and colleague Fiona Brown.  She died peacefully this morning. She was an inspirational Art teacher and Head of Art Department , and since 2012 was the Director of Sixth Form at William Ellis.  Fiona had been unwell for some time though everybody who worked with her would attest to her cheerfulness, her grace and her resilience in living with a serious illness.  Fiona was committed to providing the best quality of education to all young people, and to guiding them to realise their strengths and fulfil their ambitions.  Her creativity, her professionalism, her dedication to her students and her wonderful spirit made their mark on William Ellis School and on our Sixth formers in LaSWAP.   We feel privileged to have known her and worked with her.

Support is available through the school counsellors at William Ellis and Parliament Hill Schools for students in relation to this sad news.  Emma White will be available this week on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday in room 61 at WES and Neera Dhingra will be available in the Wellbeing Project Room next to PA7 in Parliament Hill at breaktime or lunchtime on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday where she can either speak to them immediately or make an appointment.
