William Ellis will be supporting the Disasters Emergency Committee with proceeds from Non-Uniform Day. In March, Cyclone Idai swept through Mozambique, Malawi and Zimbabwe, leaving behind a trail of destruction, killing at least 750 people and leaving 2.5 million in need of help. Strong winds and widespread flooding ripped apart roads, bridges, houses, schools and health facilities and submerged vast swathes of agricultural land. Flooding remains severe and the full scale of the disaster has yet to become clear as search and rescue operations continue. With little clean water available, cholera cases have been reported and there is a high risk of outbreaks of other waterborne diseases. DEC member charities are working closely with national partners to support the rescue and relief effort, delivering clean water, emergency shelter materials and blankets, food such as pulses and maize flour, and urgent health assistance. People need help now. Please donate today. Thank you.
