Humanities

The Humanities Faculty brings together the Geography, History, Philosophy, Politics, Travel & Tourism and Religious Studies Departments to teach students to use and develop their analytical, evaluative, speculative and critical skills in a shared environment on the ground floor of the school building.

As a faculty we aim to encourage a unique kind of pleasure, a pleasure based on the common pursuit of knowledge and to offer students the opportunity  to study societies, people and the world around them through our shared vision of what the humanities looks like in practice.

Our aim is to help students become independent learners and we encourage co-operation and develop the skills that are necessary for students to communicate with others, thus providing students with a wealth of opportunity for the tertiary sector.

We will work hard to ensure that every student makes excellent progress at William Ellis School and we believe wholeheartedly in celebrating our students attainment and achievement.
