KS3 PE

Year 7

In year 7 learners are given 2 hours of Physical Education per week. This is taken in one lesson of two hours.

Classes are taught in form groups and study the following sports across the year:

Rugby, Football, Cross-Country/fitness, Athletics, Cricket, Softball

Throughout the year pupils are taught about living a healthy lifestyle. This includes diet, hygiene, anatomy of the human body and the benefits of regular exercise.

Year 8

Year 8 pupils are given 2.5 hours per week of Physical Education. This is delivered as one lesson of two hours per week and one lesson of one hour per fortnight.

Across the year they will study the following:

Rugby, Football, Cross-Country, Athletics, Cricket, Softball, Badminton, Fitness, Table tennis.

Year 9

Pupils in the final year of Key Stage 3 are given 5 hours per fortnight of PE. This is delivered via three single, on hour lessons of physical education and one double, two hour session of games. They study the following sports:

Rugby, Football, Cricket, Softball, Badminton, Fitness, Table tennis, Indoor rowing, Volleyball, Dodgeball and Basketball.
