Year 7 French Spelling Bee

After months of preparation, round 2 came to a close!

The MFL department kicked off this half term with the second leg of the Foreign Languages Spelling Bee.

The winners from the class competitions all took to the stage and, in front of the whole of year 7, translated from English to French, and spelt using the French alphabet, as many words as they could in 1 minute.

Everyone did incredibly well, taking the time to learn 150 words in French, and having the confidence to stand up in front of their peers.

The following pupils took part in the contest, representing their forms: Daniel 7B, Pierre 7F, Lawrence 7F, Jonathan 7F, Eshaan 7F, Abdulilah 7K, Imran 7K, Sam 7L, Rron 7L, Orlando 7L, Bram  7W, Joseph 7W, and Norik 7W

It was a tense competition and, with only 3 winning spots available, the event ended in a tie breaker to decide the third and final winner.

In the end we said well done to Orlando 7L, Jonathan 7F, and Abdulilah 7K, who won the competition and will be representing William Ellis School on the 27th April at the regional finals in East London.

Here they are together, along with Corey 7B, the honorary timekeeper for the competition.
