WESPA 5K Challenge

Year 9   – Thursday 6^th October

Year 8   – Thursday 13^th October

Year 7   – Thursday 20^th October

The annual 5K Fun Runs begin this week with the Year 9 event on Thursday afternoon. Last year’s events raised £3,600 which was used to make improvements to the playground.

All boys in the year group are expected to participate, with everybody expected to run at least 3K (last year some boys ran as far as 8K). Boys will of course need to bring their PE kit for the afternoon. Teachers should escort students to the Parliament Hill area of the Heath (behind the lido) at the start of period 5. The run will start at 2.30pm and students will be dismissed from the Heath at 3.20pm. Parents are welcome to come and watch.

House points will be awarded to the House that raises most money and to the House which runs the greatest total distance. Individual medals will be awarded to the 3 boys who run the furthest distance in each year group.

Students are collecting sponsorship money from friends and family. Alternatively money can be donated online via http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/WilliamEllisSchoolWESPA . Anybody donating should ensure they donate to the right House.

Form Tutors – students should bring the sponsorship money they have raised to school in an envelope clearly marked with their name and form group. The money should be handed in to the PE department (or to the school office if there is nobody in the PE office).
