House Poetry Competition 2021

During December students worked on entries for the House Poetry competition and in the last week of Autumn term the winners were chosen from a strong field.

There was a fantastic array of poems submitted this year, ranging from themes like climate change, poverty, the impact of COVID and plenty of art inspired poetry written in Year 7 English lessons. All the winning poems clearly had lots of thought and time put into them, but it was a close call - this is the first year that there were no clear stand out winners for each house and the votes were tight. This is reflected in the fact that even an overall winner couldn't be chosen.

The first prize is shared between two students this year.

Congratulations to:

Year 9's Rico – winner for Willow House and joint first place overall

Year 7' s Kurosh – winner for Lauderdale House and joint first place overall

Yeat 7's Burhan – winner for Keats House and 3rd place overall

Year 7's Sonny – winner for Fenton House and 4th place overall

Year 7's Reamann – winner for Burgh House and 5th place overall
