William Ellis School is a non-denominational Voluntary Aided (VA) school. Voluntary Aided schools have more autonomy than other state-maintained schools and we are supported by the Birkbeck and William Ellis Schools Trust, known publicly as the William Ellis Trust.  The Trust is responsible for appointing a majority of school governors who in turn have a number of core responsibilities for the school as set out on the governors page on this website.

The William Ellis Trust is an independent charity which works to bring together the supporters and alumni of William Ellis School for the benefit of current William Ellis pupils and the wider north London community. It also has responsibilities for contributing ten percent of the income the school receives to invest into its physical buildings as well as playing an important role through holding the lease for the school site.

You can learn more about the William Ellis Trust and its work by visiting their website which you can find here. As a resource for the school community they are keen to hear from those interested in their work and how they can support the school.

If you would like to discuss their work, please reach out to Will Durham, Director, at wdurham@williamellis.camden.sch.uk

Current trustees of the Trust are:

    Fiona Millar (Chair)
    Jamal Mohamed
    Selina Skipwith
    Tim Sowula
    Alex Smith
    Sam White

If you would like to make a donation or leave a legacy to support the school via the Trust you will find all relevant information on their website. Further information on leaving a legacy to the Trust can also be found in the linked document below.
