English Teacher (with another subject) - Required September 2020

William Ellis School is a boys’ school with a large mixed sixth form in the north of Camden. It is in an attractive site on the edge of Hampstead Heath with excellent access to Central London.  It is a neighbourhood of great social and cultural diversity, and this diversity is very well represented and celebrated at William Ellis. We educate some very able young people alongside a considerable number who are significantly disadvantaged. In line with the original vision of the school, we are committed to helping each student to achieve well and develop as fully-rounded young people, so that they are well qualified and prepared for their future success and wellbeing regardless of the challenge that they may face. 

Applications are invited from enthusiastic and highly capable teachers to develop their career in a school which places good quality teaching and at the centre of educating students.  

You would be joining a well-established and successful English Department, with a strong track-record of supporting teachers to develop in their careers. 

We would particularly welcome applications from teachers who are able to contribute to the teaching of either: 

  • Drama 

  • History/RE 

We are open to applications from teachers who would be interested in working part time from 0.6 FTE with some flexibility.   

The successful candidate will be: 

  • a highly motivated and inspirational classroom practitioner 

  • committed to maximising pupil progress through setting high standards and by delivering effective teaching and learning 

  • able to inspire, lead, support and challenge students to be achieve their potential.
