Head of Art & Technology (1Year Fixed Term Maternity Cover)

Upper Scale, Inner London + TLR 1B 

We are looking for a Head of Art and Design & Technology (Maternity Cover) who can bring commitment and expertise to our curriculum offer, supporting and teaching students across all key stages. You would be supported in your professional development, whatever your stage of teaching career.  

The Art and Technology Department is a growing and highly successful part of William Ellis School, encompassing Art, Design & Technology and Food. All three subjects recruit successfully at GCSE with excellent attainment particularly in Art, and Food Technology growing as a subject since its introduction in 2020. The department has a diverse KS5 offer, including Art Graphics A Level and a Technical Level 2 course. Both have excellent progression to a specialist Level 3 courses, Art Foundation and a range of highly competitive undergraduate institutions in London and beyond. The department team are experienced, supportive and have expertise in the whole range of these curriculum specialisms.  

The successful candidate will be: 

  • A Highly motivated and inspirational classroom practitioner with excellent subject knowledge  

  • Committed to maximising pupil progress through setting high standards and by delivering effective teaching and learning 

  • Able to motivate, lead, support and challenge students to be successful
