The WES 500 words competition deadline has been extended!

This competition, open to all students aged 11-18, is open until 18th December.

Entrants will need to write a story of 500 words or fewer. The story can be any genre or theme of the writer's choice; maybe a spooky tale, a detective mystery or a science-fiction adventure.

The rules of the competition are:

The story must be written by one person (not as a collaboration with any other students)
The story must be an original work of fiction (stories will be checked for originality)
One entry per student.
There’s a 500 word limit (title is not included in the word count) but no rules on theme.
Competition opens: Monday 30th October.
Competition closes at 3.30pm on Thursday 30th November
Once you have submitted your story, you will be unable to edit it or change any of your details, so please double-check everything before you submit your final story.

Submissions can be typed or handwritten and should be handed in to Ms Nunnery in her office in the Library.

There will be Gold, Silver and Bronze prizes in each Key Stage for the winning entries.
